Art-Public Chur
Group Exhibition with Josephsohn in
Fontana Park

May 06, 2012 to October 28, 2012

Fontana Park in the heart of the city of Chur, which was laid out as a garden for one of the most magnificent stately homes in Graubünden in the eighteenth century, has long been a public park, and since being completely refurbished by the landscape architect Guido Hager (2006), is once again distinctly characterized by the original, Baroque concept.

In the summer of 2012, the park host the exhibition organized by Luciano Fasciati and Nicole Rampa «Säen, ernten, glücklich sein» (sow, reap, be happy). The goal of the Art-public Chur association in sponsoring this event is to make it possible for the population to discover and encounter contemporary art in the public space for a period of time.

The group exhibition brings together the artistic positions of various generations and art forms: Not Vital, Ursula Palla, Lutz & Guggisberg, Katja Schenker, etc. For the duration of the exhibition, two or three reliefs and a work from the group of «large half-figures» by Hans Josephsohn will supplement the works by the artist already situated in the public space in Chur – the «large reclining figure» on the Poststrasse, which is currently the subject of controversial discussion, and the privately owned relief on the façade of the property at Süsswinkelgasse 15.

Opening: Saturday 5 May, 2012, 11 a.m.

Speeches by:
Alda Conrad-Lardelli, President Art-Public Chur–
Doris Caviezel-Hidber, Councillor City of Chur
