Josephsohn Exhibition at the Ernst Barlach Haus in Hamburg

February 16, 2014 to June 15, 2014

In an impressively clear museum building by Werner Kallmorgen, the Ernst Barlach Haus in Hamburg has housed a large collection of major works by the Expressionist sculptor and painter Ernst Barlach (1870–1938) for more than fifty years. In addition to changing presentations of the collection, the museum also shows several exhibitions on Classical Modern and contemporary art every year. Within this framework, a Josephsohn exhibition was opened in February 2014 under the title “The Thing has to Live.” The works being shown include loans from the collection of Kolumba in Cologne, the Mezzanin Art Foundation in Fürstentum Liechtenstein, and the Klöcker Collection (Bad Homburg), supplemented by four works from the Kesselhaus Josephsohn/Galerie Felix Lehner.

Opening: February 16, 2014, 11 am
