On a Search for Clues in the Sitterwerk: Museum Night 2018

September 08, 2018 Event date: 18.00 to 00.00

On Saturday, September 8, 2018, the Museum Night is taking place in St. Gallen. A good reason for the Sitterwerk, in cooperation with the neighboring Kunstgiesserei and the Fotolabor to once open its doors on a Saturday evening. From 6 p.m. to midnight, the Art Library, Material Archive, the Kesselhaus Josephsohn as well as the Kunstgiesserei and Fotolabor are open for visitors.
Based on this year’s motto, «Tatort Museumsnacht» (Crime Scene Museum Night), the Sitterwerk invites visitors to go on a search for clues on guided tours and to look for fingerprints that artists, collectors, employees, and visitors have left behind in the drawers and shelves, in the exhibition space as well as in the workshops of the Kunstgiesserei and in the Fotolabor.
The Museum Night in the Sitterwerk ends with a midnight casting in the casting hall, which has already become a tradition. A drawing by the Swedish architect, curator, and artist Elizabeth Hatz, who worked in the Sitterwerk studio in recent weeks, will be executed in metal in the open casting method.
The team of the foundry kitchen will provide food, including meat and vegetable skewers from the China grill as well as diverse sweets. The bar is open until 1 a.m.
