While researching his article on Josephsohn for the renowned American art magazine Art in America, the New Yorker Joe Fyfe also arrived in the Kesselhaus Josephsohn in the Sitterwerk at the beginning of the year 2007. What opened up to him here were not only new insights into Josephsohn's oeuvre and his way of working. He—himself a visual artist—was also impressed by the conditions that exist in the guest studio in the Sitterwerk. The Sitterwerk in the end made it possible for him to spend three months working here in the summer. During this stay, his text on Josephsohn achieved its final form, to be published in the January 2008 issue of Art in America. As a painter, Joe Fyfe was engaged with the concentrated colors of the textiles that he had brought with him from his stay in Cambodia and with which he painted his images on canvas here.
