Charlotte Moth worked from 4th until 22th April 2016 in the Gastatelier.
The British artist Charlotte Moth was a guest in the Sitterwerk for three weeks in April 2016, during which she was in the neighboring Fotolabor producing prints nearly around the clock. She was working on the photo collection Travelogue, which she began in 1999 and has steadily added to since then. The collection comprises photographs of architectural spaces and leisure time locations that Charlotte Moth has encountered on her travels. The Paris-based artist makes use of this collection as an image bank, her reservoir of ideas. The exhibition in Vaduz—whose title is the same as that of the collection of photographs—also includes photographs from the region, for instance the Salginatobel Bridge near Schiers, the Landwasser Viaduct of the Rhaetian Railway in Filisur, and the Montessori school in Altach.
During her time in the Sittertal, the curator Christiane Meyer-Stoll, and Fabian Flückiger, exhibition assistant, accompanied the artist. They worked here along with the artist making preparations for the exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein.
The prints that Charlotte Moth produced during her stay in the Sitterwerk include some for her upcoming exhibition in Vaduz as well. In parallel, she also created works for the exhibition in the Kunstgiesserei St.Gallen: on the one hand, a 3d print of plants, and on the other, two hands modeled after her own and cast in bronze, a continuation of the living images series.
