Open Studio—with Michel Auder, Grace Schwindt, Sara Masüger, Katharina Kiebacher, Yto Barrada, and Elodie Pong
Thursday, June 16, 2022, 5–9 p.m.
During the last six months, we were able to welcome several wonderful artists for shorter and longer stays in the Sitter Valley. Now we have the pleasure to present a selection of works created during their stays, some of which are still in the process of being made or were already produced at an earlier point in time. The works are presented in the studios as well as in various other spaces of the Sitterwerk Foundation. We look forward to inspiring art, good conversations, and beautiful encounters with a small apéro, hopefully with good weather!
Michel Auder (*1944 in Soissons) lives and works in Hudson, NY. He is a photographer and filmmaker and was a guest of the Sitterwerk Foundation in May and June.
Grace Schwindt (*1979 in Offenbach) works in the mediums of film, performance, sculpture, and drawing. Grace has been a guest several times this year in the course of preparations for an exhibition that will open in September 2022 at the Kunstmuseum St.Gallen.
Sara Masüger (*1978 in Baar) lives and works in Zurich. She will be a guest of the Sitterwerk in July and pursue her sculptural work further. In anticipation of her stay, we are already showing one of her older works as part of the open studio event.
Katharina Kiebacher (*1974 in Freising) lives and works in Berlin and was a guest artist of the Sitterwerk Foundation in April and May 2022. She works in various media and constantly moves between the two- and the three-dimensional in her work.
Yto Barrada (*1971 in Paris) lives in New York. She works with photography, film, prints, sculpture, and installations, and is a guest of the Sitterwerk in June 2022.
Elodie Pong (*1966 in Boston) lives and works in Zurich in the mediums of installation, performance, and visual art. She is using the workshops during her current guest stay with us to experiment with stone as a material.
