Sculptural Building Ruins—the Zurich artist in the guest studio.
During Jason Klimatsas's short stay as a guest artist in the Studio House in autumn 2007, he created a sculpture in cement that is reminiscent, not coincidentally, of the ruins of structures often found on the coasts of Greece. Their sculptural aspect, which often incisively shapes these landscapes, are taken up by Klimatsas in his artistic work and, as a deliberately designed sculpture, appear in an entirely different light, although without negating the reference to the ciphers as they often characterize the Mediterranean holiday paradise.
