The artist Annina Frehner works conceptually with spatial installations and artistic interventions. The artist’s book Index No 1 emerged from her exploration of how her site-specific works can be made accessible once again. It brings together all the digital and digitised working material that was stored on the artist’s hard drive in 2014 – photographs, scans, research and documentation from 1999 to 2014. The sole criterion for organisation is the date the images were created. Given its density and considerable scope, this publication requires a little time and attention to engage with the archive and the book as an object; for this reason, we have opted for a singular, minimalist presentation devoted entirely to this extraordinary book.
From 12 June to 30 June 2026, the limited edition can be viewed at the Kunstbibliothek as part of the exhibition «A Library is a Growing Organism».
