Vanessa Billy’s publishing practice reflects the central questions of her sculptural work, which revolves around themes of transformation, materiality and the relationship between organic and industrial processes. Books and printed matter do not serve merely as media for documentation or information, but as a conceptual extension of her artistic, sculptural practice. This reveals an in-depth exploration of materials and production processes, which are central to the artist’s practice. The Art Library is delighted that, with the presentation of all of Vanessa Billy’s publications as part of «A Library is a Growing Organism», this special collection of artist’s books is now being added to the Art Library’s holdings.
From 1 July to 2 August, the books will be on display at the Kunstbibliothek as part of the series «A Library is a Growing Organism», alongside material samples from the artist’s research.
On 1 July at 6.00 pm, Vanessa Billy will guide visitors through her publications and provide an insight into her work.
