Sitterwerk Foundation
The Sitterwerk Foundation with its Art Library, its Material Archive and the Studio House is located on the industrial site in the Sitter Valley near St.Gallen, in direct proximity to the Kesselhaus Josephsohn, to the Art Foundry and the Fotolabor. In this network, production, research, preservation, and the mediation of art and craft interpenetrate and enrich one another in diverse ways.
How does Japan wax feel? From which quarry does the marble from which Giambologna created his sculptures come from? What is the future of automated production processes? The collections of the Sitterwerk Foundation interlink such topics and many others and provide material, literature, and a space for precise research or inspiring browsing. The Sitterwerk Foundation shares what is developed here with a broad audience by means of a wide selection of activities, lectures, and tours.
